The FMNEA Executive Committee is thrilled to announce that nominations are now OPEN for the 2025 FMNEA Awards of Excellence! These prestigious awards will be presented at the upcoming FMNEA Conference, held alongside the CFPC Family Medicine Forum. The FMNEA awards is supported by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Recipients of the FMNEA Awards will be selected by the FMNEA Executive Committee.

This is your chance to shine a spotlight on the exceptional individuals and teams who go above and beyond to support and elevate Family Medicine education across Canada. Let’s recognize their passion, leadership, and impact!

🏆Award Categories

FMNEA Team Excellence Award

Criteria

The FMNEA Team Excellence in Educational Administration Award recognizes and celebrates the collective contributions of a team of education administrators who have significant initiatives and impact within the Department of Family Medicine.

  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration to support the mission, goals, and directives of the department.

  • Exhibited excellent communication within the team and to other stakeholders.

  • Effective collaboration to meet goals and directives.

  • Exhibits professionalism, trust, and respect for team members.

  • Adaptability to circumstances and demonstrated creative problem-solving.

Eligibility

  • Nominations must be members of an administrative team with two or more individuals working within Department of Family Medicine education program.

  • elf-nominations are ineligible.

  • Past winners of the award will not be eligible for re-nomination.

 Nomination Process

Nominations must be submitted by:

  • Current or former Program Director,

  • Current or former trainee in a Department of Family Medicine,

  • Current or former fellow staff member, or

  • Current FMNEA member

FMNEA Administrator Award of Excellence

Criteria

The FMNEA Administrator Award of Excellence is presented to a current or administrator who has demonstrated outstanding service in medical education for a Department of Family Medicine education program.

  • Commitment to provide excellent support to faculty, residents, and colleagues.

  • Excellence in fulfillment of their assigned roles and responsibilities.

  • Unique ability to guide and inspire others.

  • Effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates competence and knowledge and shares best practices with colleagues.

  • Exhibits positive impact and contribution to a positive, respectful workplace.

  • Directly responsible for novel, creative ways for improvements to their teams or programs.

Eligibility

  • Nominee must be a current education administrator of a Family Medicine education program.

  • Self-nominations are ineligible.

  • Past winners of the award will not be eligible for re-nomination.
